Obituary

Steven David Carvalho, 56, of Methuen, formerly of Bradford and Reading passed away on June 10, 2019. He was born in Fall River to Claire (Harrison) and William Carvalho on January 15,1963. He lived in Kearny, NJ before moving back to MA where he graduated in 1981 from Reading Memorial High School.

Steven, also known as Stu, was a giving, gentle, forever helpful, humble and smart man. As he was very sociable, everyone who knew him loved him. He enjoyed singing karaoke, watching sports and Jeopardy, solving crypto-quotes, eating out, and being with his friends and family. He was a valuable member of the Greater Boston Sports Collectors Club that his father founded. Steven was owner of Carvalho Painting & Wallpapering Plus More for many years. But what he loved the most and made him the happiest was the years he spent raising his daughter.

Steven was a loving and caring son. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Jessica. And a fun-loving uncle to his nieces and nephews, Randy Carvalho, Lawrence Meuse, Amanda Meuse, William Fortin, Michelle Fortin, David Fortin and Rachel Garrett.

Steven will be sorely missed by his mother, Claire Carvalho and his siblings, Michael Carvalho, Lori and husband Kevin Fortin, Lynn and husband Robert Westcott, and Tina and husband Raymond Garrett. He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Orlando and his grandson, Vincent. Along with his nieces and nephews, he also leaves many great nieces/nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins as well as his numerous friends. He was predeceased by his father, William Carvalho, in 2010.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 29th at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel at Sacred Hearts Parish, 165 South Main Street, Bradford, MA (parking behind church).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Steven's memory. Checks should be made out to "MRC-Statewide Head Injury Program" with Steven's name on the memo line and mailed to: MRC-SHIP, 600 Washington Street, Boston, MA 02111.
