Selden M. Gerade a resident of Reading for 81years, passed away on January 30, 2024 at the Winchester Hospital.  He was 91 years of age.

Selden was born in Melrose, Massachusetts on April 11, 1932 the son of the late Robert G. and Eliza (Chadwick) Gerade.  He was a graduate of Reading Memorial High School class of 1950.  Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country during the Korean War.

Throughout his life, Selden was employed as an Electronics Test Engineer for Transitron Electronic Corporation, Teradyne, Inc., and Atrium Corporation.

Selden was the beloved husband of Virginia (Webb) Gerade.  Devoted father of Scott A. Gerade and his wife Mary Jo, Susan L. Doolin and her husband Dennis and Glenn W. Gerade all of Reading. Loving grandfather of Sean, Kelly, and Jennifer Doolin, and great grandfather of Hadley, Mckenna, Milo, and Stevie.  Step-grandfather of Loren Poulo, Mathew, Justin and Daniel Kennedy, and step-great grandfather of Ruby, Grace, and Dylan.
