Robert A. Patterson, Sr., a 50 year resident of Reading formerly of Medford, died January 9, 2014 at the Wingate Nursing Home in Reading. He was 83 years of age. Robert was born in Somerville, Massachusetts on March 15, 1930 and was the son of the late John and Sarah (Campbell) Patterson. Robert was a member of the First Congregational Church of Reading. He was a retired machinist for Madico in Woburn where worked for over20 years. Robert was an avid Patriot's and Red Sox fan. Robert's family was first and foremost in his life. Robert was the beloved husband of sixty years to Marie A. (Gordon) Patterson. Devoted father of Karen Lee Brown and her husband Matthew of White Plains, NY and the Late Robert A. Patterson, Jr. Loving grandfather of Kali and Danika Patterson and David Brown. Cherished brother of James Patterson and his wife Betty of Medfield, Ann Johnson and her husband Ed of Rye Beach, NH, the late John Patterson and Shirley Collins. He was also the former father in law of Denise LaChance of Methuen. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 8 at 10:00AM at the First Congregational Church 25 Woburn St. Reading.
