Robert J. Evans, 78, of Los Angeles, CA, died suddenly at Glendale Adventist Medical Center, May 31, 2018.

Robert was born April 10, 1940 in Everett, Massachusetts, to the late Harold and Sadie (Zellas) Evans. He grew up in Everett, where he attended Everett High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Northeastern University in 1963. He moved to California after graduation and settled in the Los Angeles area. His job with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of California became his career, retiring after over 40 years to enjoy his loves of reading, gardening, attending theatre, and travel. "Boston Bob", as his friends called him, saw much of America by train, a hobby he enjoyed throughout his life. His quiet but adventurous nature will be missed.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Evans.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 15, at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home, 25 Sanborn Street, in Reading, MA, from 10-11 AM.  Funeral Services will begin at 11:30, at Glenwood Cemetery in Everett, MA.
