Richard T. O'Leary, 69, of Reading, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Saturday morning, September 3. He was the husband of the late Dianne M. (Santos) O'Leary who died in 2011.

Born and raised in Malden, he was the son of the late Richard, and the late Marion O'Leary. He had worked as a Financial Controller for the Teradyne Corporation for over 30 years. Following his retirement, he continued to work as a consultant right up until his recent illness.

Richard loved spending time with his family at their summer home in East Dennis on Cape Cod. He also had a winter home in Wellington, Florida. Richard was an avid hockey fan, and also played in several men's hockey leagues in the area.

Richard is survived by one son, Michael R. O'Leary and his wife Dyane of Cohasset; and three grandchildren, Cameron, Tanner, and Brooke O'Leary. Richard is also survived by his loving friend, Joan Sheary of Worcester.

Visiting hours will be at the Douglass, Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home, 25 Sanborn St., Reading on Wednesday, September 7 from 4-8 pm. The funeral will be from the funeral home on Thursday, September 8 at 9:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St., Reading at 10:00 am. Burial will be at the Charles Lawn Cemetery in Reading.
