Raymond Edgar Thorn, of Peabody formerly of Reading, died March 22, 2014 at the Continuing Care of Brooksby Village in Peabody. He was 95 years of age. Ray was born in Reading on February 5, 1919, the son of Fred J. and Harriett (Perry) Thorn. Ray was a retired engineer from General Electric in Lynn where he worked for 39 years. He enjoyed sailing and square dancing bur his family was first and foremost in his life. Ray was the beloved husband of Arliene (Dodge) Thorn. Devoted father of Raymond D. Thorn, Jr. and his wife Ann of Granbury TX, William F. Thorn and his wife Nancy of N. Reading, Sally L. Lozietti and her husband Richard of Plainville, CT, and Nancy T. Turner of Fairfax, VA. He was the Loving grandfather of 9 and great grandfather of 9. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, March 25 at 10:30am at the Brooksby Village Chapel (McIntosh Building) 300 Brooksby Village Dr., Peabody. There are no calling hours and burial is private.
