Obituary

Raymond "Ray" J. Gaudet of Salem, NH, formerly of Somerville, MA, passed away unexpectedly in his Acton, Maine home on Friday, August 20, 2021. Even though a failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart left a beacon of light for family and friends.

Ray was born in Somerville, Massachusetts on June 30, 1956, the cherished son of the late Joseph "Gil" and Marie V. (Gregoire) Gaudet. Ray worked as an electrician and was currently employed as Project Manager for Minichino Electric. During his career as an electrician, Ray served as a mentor, and developed many long lasting friendships.  He was known as hard-working, caring, family man who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  Ray could always be found playing with them at any family gathering.

Ray spent his lifetime collecting coins, sports cards, stamps, and other memorabilia, and relished in sharing his passion for collecting with others.  He enjoyed being surrounded by those he loved and was always the first to recommend a group trip, night out at the casino, vacations with Tracy, or dinner with friends.

Ray is survived by his beautiful wife Tracy A. (Baddeley) Gaudet, daughter Nicole Connolly and her husband Christopher of Rowley, MA, son Raymond J. Gaudet, Jr. and his wife Denise of Hudson, NH and daughter Kristin Markley of Groton, MA. Ray was an amazing Papa to six grandchildren: Ava, Caden, and Mya Connolly; Audriana, Natalia, and Christina Gaudet. Ray was the dear brother of Donald Gaudet and his wife Jeanne of Boynton Beach, Fl; Dianne Ribecca and her husband Joe of Windham, ME, and Paula Copan of Natick.

A visitation will be held at the Douglass, Edgerley, and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St., (corner of Woburn St.) Reading, MA on Thursday, August 26 from 4-7 PM. A prayer service will be held at 7PM. Burial is private.
