Mike Eddy, of Methuen formerly of Reading, died suddenly on May 21, 2014. He was 25 years of age. Mike was born in Melrose, Massachusetts on August 22, 1988. He was the beloved son of Michael W. and Cathy M. (Sullivan) Eddy of Methuen, formerly of Reading.

Mike will be remembered for his passion for music and his nasty drum playing. He also loved to sing, play the guitar and write his own music. He thoroughly enjoyed history and loved a healthy political debate. He was an excellent athlete and especially loved hockey. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and loved to make people laugh. He attended Reading schools and was a graduate of Reading Memorial High School class of 2007.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his sisters Taylor A. Eddy of Peabody, Kerry L. Yurewicz and her husband John of Reading, two nieces, Madelyn and Sofie, his grandfather, Warren Eddy of Stoneham and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, May 28 at the First Baptist Church 45 Woburn St. in Reading at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Wood End Cemetery, Reading. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 pm at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading.
