Marie Lucille (Putman) Carden, a resident of Reading for 47 years, died May 9, 2015 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. She was 79 years of age. Marie was born in Normal, Illinois on November 22, 1935, the daughter of the late Dale W. and Ruth L. (Messer) Putman. Marie and her husband are past members of Meadow Brook Golf Club in Reading. She was the beloved wife of 57 years to Dr. Robert W. Carden. Devoted mother of John F. Carden and his wife Melissa of Hampton, NH, Paul T. Carden of N. Attleboro and Valerie Buchanan of Ft. Myers, FL. Cherished sister of Karl Putman of Marshalltown IA and John Putman of Urbana IL. He is also survived by 4 loving grandchildren. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) in Reading on Wednesday May 13 at 10:30 am. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 am. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Normal IL.
