Reading
Lucille Koster Reisner of Reading, Massachusetts, widow of Adolph Reisner, passed away peacefully at Wingate at Reading Nursing home on February 16, 2019. Lucille, Lucy or Cille, (as she was known to many), was born and raised in Rockland, Maine to Ada (Barbour) and William E. Koster.
She was educated in the Rockland school systems and was a graduate of Rockland High School class of 1949. She went on to further her education at Gorham State Teachers College, and upon completion of her studies in 1952, taught school for a year in Belfast, Maine. She then moved to Massachusetts, and began teaching the second grade at the L.H. Coffin School in Marblehead, Mass. Lucille would remain a teacher at that school for 36 years until her retirement in 1989. She enjoyed working with children, and especially enjoyed playing the piano and singing with her students. After retirement, she went on several vacations and enjoyed time spent visiting her family and friends in her home. She also frequently traveled back to Rockland, to spend time with family there. She became a resident of Wingate at Reading in spring of 2016, and she could often be found at many of the activities and events that the facility held each week.
Lucille was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 23 years, Adolph Reisner, her sisters Barbara Leonard and Janice Robertson, her brother John Koster, her nephew, David Robertson, and her mother-in-law Gertrude Reisner. Surviving are her brothers-in-law Daniel Reisner and his wife Joan of Brockton, MA, John Reisner of Naples, Florida, Donald Reisner and his wife Betty of Dedham, MA, a sister-in-law Barbara Stewart of Hampden, Maine, first cousin William Barbour of Rockland, Maine and many nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends.
