Lois A. (Milne) Hurley, 89, of Wilmington, passed away at her home on Friday evening, September 1. She was the wife of the late Edward F. Hurley, Jr. who died in 1996.

Born and raised in Belmont, she was the daughter of the late Walter, and the late Myrtle (Marshall) Milne. Lois had been a longtime resident of Reading before coming to Wilmington 11 years ago.

Prior to her retirement, Lois worked as a bookkeeper for a public accountant in Reading, and later for American Mutual Insurance Company in Wakefield. She was a longtime member of the Old South United Methodist Church in Reading.

Lois is survived by her two sons, David E. Hurley and his wife Sheryl of Wilmington, and Donald M. Hurley and his husband Robert Houston of Laconia, New Hampshire. She is also survived by her brother, Lloyd Milne and his wife Margaret of Dover, New Hampshire; and many extended family members, friends and caregivers.

Services will be private. Arrangements by the Douglass, Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home in Reading. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lois' memory may be made to the Old South United Methodist Church, 6 Salem St., Reading, MA 01867
