Linda R. (Dalrymple) McCarthy of North Reading passed away on February 21, 2023 at the Woburn Nursing Center in Woburn, Massachusetts. She was 74 years of age.

Linda was born in Winchester, Massachusetts on February 27, 1948, the daughter of the late E. Frank and Eleanor M. (Zitzow) Dalrymple. She grew up in Reading and lived with her family in Wakefield for more than three decades.

Linda was passionate about genealogy. Her years of research put her in touch with relatives from around the country and across the globe. Over time, she was able to piece together her family tree which dated back centuries.  She was also very active in her church and local community, and she enjoyed donating her time to help her friends who were a constant source of support during her illness.

Linda was the devoted mother of Alan D. McCarthy, Jr. and his wife Kelly of Arlington VA, Sean P. McCarthy and his wife Susan of Derry, NH, and Brian C. McCarthy and his wife Nicole of Salem, NH. Loving grandmother of Katie and Emma McCarthy. Cherished sister of Susan M. Conlin of Clinton and the late Anne White. Linda is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 4:00-7:00pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd 95 Woburn St. Reading on Friday March 3, 2023 at 11:00am. Burial will be private.
