Kenneth J. Wood of Reading died suddenly on September 29, 2014. He was 68 years of age. Ken was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 17, 1946. He was the son of the late Lester T. Wood, Jr. and Caroline R. (Pannetta) Wood. Ken proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged from the US Air Force with the rank of Sergeant. Ken worked at Home Depot for 14 years as a Price Auditor. Prior to that he worked as a Lab Technician for Polaroid for many years. He was experienced in martial arts and was an instructor. In his younger years he enjoyed skydiving. An avid gun collector he was a fire arms instructor for the NRA. He will always be remembered for his caring ways and his love of cats and dogs His family was first and foremost in his life. Ken was the beloved husband of Silvia E. (Murillo) Wood. Devoted father of Christopher J. and Matthew K. Wood both of Reading. Cherished brother of Lester T. Wood III of CA. Visiting hours will be held at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Friday, October 3, from 4-8 pm. A prayer service will be held at 7 pm.
