John Ronan passed away peacefully on December 12, 2019 at the Royal Meadow View Center in North Reading. He was 87 years of age.

John was born in Everett, Massachusetts, the son of the late Leo & Margaret (Babcock) Ronan. He was one of eight children. John joined the United States Air Force at the age of 17, serving four years in England as a Military Police Officer. He raised his family in Burlington and worked for the MBTA for 35 years. He was married to his loving wife " Peggy" for 55 years and tirelessly cared for her during her lengthy illness. During his retirement years John enjoyed traveling with Peggy to Vegas and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He had a song in his step because he loved music and dancing.

John was the beloved husband of the late Margaret (Flaherty) Ronan. Devoted father of Laurie A. Arata and her husband Curt of Tyngsboro, John J. Ronan and his wife Kim of Townsend, Linda M. Davarich and her husband Scott of Reading and James P. Ronan of Lowell. Cherished brother of the late Leo Ronan, Margie Sampson, James Ronan, Rita Forey, Raymond Ronan, and Irene Ronan. Survived by Madeline Crawford of San Diego, CA . Adoring "Papa" to his seven grandchildren, Shane, Allison, John, Clancy, Shaley, Carly and Vanessa. John also leaves behind loving nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading at 12pm. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-12pm. Burial is private.
