Joan A. (Borheady) Monson, a resident of Reading for 54 years, died October 9, 2014 at the Woburn Nursing Center. She was 82 years of age. Joan was born in Trenton, New Jersey on February 20, 1932, the daughter of the late Michael and Clara (Sonn) Borheady. Joan worked at the Choate Hospital as a Clerk for 10 years retiring in 1991. Prior to that she worked as a teacher's aide at the Highland School in Reading. She was an active member of the Old South United Methodist Church in Reading. She enjoyed working with all different types of crafts but she mostly enjoyed spending time with her family working on the family farm in Wolfeboro, NH. Joan was the beloved wife of Donald C. Monson. Devoted mother of David M. Monson and his wife Priscilla of Haverhill. Loving grandmother of Abigail and Joseph Monson. Loving cousin of Harold W. Sonn and his wife Ellin of North Caldwell, NY and god mother of Bonnie Murphy of Santa Cruz CA. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 16 at 11 am at the Old South United Methodist Church 6 Salem St. Reading. There are no calling hours and burial is private.
