Janet E. Gordon, a longtime resident of Reading, died at her home on December 31, 2013. She was 54 years of age. Janet was born on July 23, 1959 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late William L. and Grace E. (Ricker) Gordon and niece of the late Edith Ricker of Reading. Janet was a graduate of Reading Memorial High School. She worked for S & S Industries, the YMCA in Wakefield and EMI Workshop. Her hobbies included traveling and hook rugs. She was the beloved sister of William B. Gordon and his wife Linda of Rye, NY and Stamford, CT and cherished cousin of Sally DiMaggio and her husband D. Paul DiMaggio of Atkinson, NH; Jane Ricker of Plantation, FL; and Joan Ricker of Delhi, NY. She is also survived by three loving nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11 at Noon at Church of the Good Shepherd, 95 Woburn St. (corner of Chute St.), Reading. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
