Obituary

Ethel H. (Stubbs) Coccia of Stoneham and Malden passed peacefully from this life to the next on Thursday, March 24, 2022.

Born Ethel Stubbs in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on August 6, 1927, Ethel was raised on Cuttyhunk Island until she married the love of her life, Robert Coccia. During the Second World War, she followed Bob to the Pacific Northwest, and worked for Boeing to support the war effort. They raised their two daughters, Janice and Joyce, in Malden until the family later moved to Stoneham. After the passing of Bob in 1981, Ethel went on to work at NEC before retiring and moving to Chatham, Andover, and finally returning to Malden. Ethel loved to laugh and enjoyed spending time with her family, who will forever remember her happy jigs.

She is preceded in death by her Mother, Mildred Potter, her husband Robert Coccia, her sister Mildred Basnight, and her brother John Stubbs. She is survived by her adoring children Janice Hart of Reading and Joyce and Galen Yoshizumi of Stoneham; as well as her loving grandsons Bob, Tim, and Greg Hart along with Keith and Mark Yoshizumi. Ethel was blessed with seven great grandchildren, Ashley, Abby, Tyler, Dylan, Amelie, Riley, and Cade, whom she cherished and treasured.
