Ethel V. (Jones) Beede, a resident of Reading for 50 years formerly of Wakefield and Cambridge, died October 11, 2015 at the D'Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell. She was 90 years of age. Ethel was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on September 16, 1925 the daughter Owen and Dinah (Loveys) Jones. Ethel was a longtime active member of the Old South United Methodist Church in Reading. She worked in the church office, taught Sunday school and was a member of the Miriam Circle. Her family was first and foremost in her life. She was the beloved wife of the late David E. Beede. Devoted mother of Susan E. Levine and her husband Eric of Tyngsboro, Paul D. Beede and his wife Shelly of Rowley, Cynthia J. Jones and her husband Robert of Leominster, Harold "Hal" Beede and his wife Marann of Hampstead, NH, and Kimberley M. Rodrigues and her husband Robert of Hudson, NH. Cherished sister of James and Harold Jones. Loving grandmother of 16 and great grandmother of 2 granddaughters. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, October 16 at 10:00am at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading. Burial will follow at Exeter Cemetery 49 Linden St., Exeter NH at 12 Noon. Funeral home visiting hours Thursday from 4-8pm.
