Ernest F. Gillis of Reading, passed away on September 11, 2022 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. He was 88 years age. Ernest was born in his home in Reading on February 23, 1934 the son of the late Harry G. Gillis, Sr. and M. Louise (Jarvis) Gillis.

Ernest was a graduate of Reading High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and worked as a Technician for Raytheon Corporation from beginning in 1960 and retiring in 1995. Ernest enjoyed golfing, going out on his boat and spending time with his family and friends.

He was the brother of the late Harry G. Gillis, Jr. and his surviving wife Ethel Gillis of Meredith, NH. Uncle of Janet Rivard and her husband David of Maine, James Gillis of Pennsylvania, Grand Uncle of Meredith and Caroline Rivard and Alexandra and Harrison Gillis and cousin of Wayne and Walter Hills.

A Graveside Service will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Salem Street, Reading on Saturday, November 26 at 11:00 am.
