Edwin J. Kaine of Reading, 85, beloved husband of Diana Merrill Kaine, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018.
Ed grew up in Norwood and graduated from Norwood High School and the New Hampton School in New Hampshire. He continued his education receiving a bachelor's of science at UMass Amherst then a master's in chemistry from Lowell Technological Institute.
After retiring for over 45 years in the leather industry he continued consulting around the world sharing his expertise in China, Russia and South America.
He lovingly leaves his children Julie Kaine Porter, Steven J. Kaine and his wife Leslie along with his grandchildren Emily Kaine and her fiancee Greg Sutherland, Jonathan Kaine and his wife Tara and David Locke Porter.
Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the Douglass, Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home, 25 Sanborn St., (corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Tuesday September 25 th from 5-8 pm. Funeral Services and burial will be held privately.
