Edward "Ed" R. Harnish, 74, of Reading, MA, passed away suddenly Thursday, July 20, 2017 at his home in Reading, MA. He was born in Cambridge, MA on August 16, 1942, a son of Elmer and Geraldine (Ryan) Harnish. Ed proudly served his country in the US Air Force 354th during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on August 26, 1965. He was a courier of medical supplies of Dynamax until his retirement.
Ed was constantly helping his family and friends in whatever ways he could. This is no surprise to anyone as he was a caring and giving individual with a laugh that brought a smile to anyone in a room. He enjoyed spending his time with his wife, Liz, and really loved to see and talk about his grand children. He enjoyed watching all the New England sports teams but really loved the Red Sox.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Elizabeth (Ranberg) Harnish of Reading; daughter, Kerri-Ann Levy of Ocala, FL; son, Richard Harnish and his wife Martha of Las Vegas, NV; step son Lawrence A. King and his wife Marlene of Billerica, MA; step daughter, Cindy L (King) Gannon and her husband James of Hillsborough, NH; six grandchildren, Christina, Adam, Shaylyn, Kiley, Amanda, Alex, and Kaydyn; one great-grandson, Josh; He will be fondly remembered by the so many lives he touched.
There are no calling hours. A Private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Eds' memory may be made to American Heart Association, https://donatenow.heart.org/.
