Douglas R. Gourley, 69 of Reading died Wednesday September 23rd, 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.

Born in Lynn, he grew up in Wakefield and attended Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro NH. He received a BA in History and Political Science from Northeastern University. After serving as a Combat Medic in the United States Army Reserve, Doug earned an MBA from Boston University.

Doug married the late, and former, Carin E. Richard of Wakefield and together they had one son, Donald. Doug made his career with Demakes Enterprises in Lynn, MA in Facilities Management and Industrial Engineering. He was a lifelong supporter of Northeastern University Athletics, and was loved, and will be missed dearly, by all those whose lives he touched.

Doug is survived by his son Donald, his daughter-in-law Meike, and his two grandsons Jacob and Henry.

Doug's ashes will be laid to rest at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 17th 2015, at the Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield during a funeral for relatives. Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend a funeral mass at 11:00 AM the same morning at Emmanuel Episcopal Church at 5 Bryant Street in Wakefield.
