Carolyn Marie (Hamel) Doherty of Reading, formerly of Woburn, died August 26, 2015 at the Boston Medical Center in Boston. She was 51 years of age. Carolyn was born in Winchester, Massachusetts on August 26, 1964, the daughter of Priscilla (Errico) Hamel of Woburn and the late Harvey J. Hamel.

She grew up in Woburn and was a graduate of Woburn High School class of 1982. She then attended and graduated class of 1986 from Fitchburg State College with a degree in Business Administration. She was a former employee at Filene's Basement as an Assistant Buyer. Carolyn's family was first and foremost in her life. She attended every event that her children participated in.

Carolyn was the Beloved wife of Thomas N. Doherty. Devoted mother of Evan T. Doherty and Chloe F. Doherty both of Reading. Loving sister of Keith Hamel of Natick, Beth Siegenfeld of Ossining NY and Mark Hamel of Woburn.

Her funeral will be held from the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.), Reading, on Monday, August 31 at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St. Reading at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Wood End Cemetery, Reading. Funeral home visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4-8pm.
