On September 6, 2022 Carol (Grad) Hingston, a longtime resident of Reading died at the age of 95. She was the wife of the late Allan Hingston.

Carol is survived by her children, Stephen Hingston of Winchester, Paula Rowe of Reading, eight grandchildren and two baby great granddaughters.  She was predeceased by her daughter Elizabeth Hingston.

Carol's childhood years were spent in Winchester, the Midwest and Medford, MA where she graduated from high school.  After attending Katherine Gibbs school she worked in an insurance company until meeting Mr. Hingston.  They were married in 1950 and eventually settled in Reading where they raised their children.  The family made many happy summer memories vacationing in Marshfield, MA.  When her husband retired they enjoyed wintering in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Carol took great pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren.  She was an avid reader of novels and a big fan of classic movies and PBS mysteries.  She also dabbled in jewelry making.
