Barbara J. (Bugden) Ritchie a resident of Reading for 32 years formerly of Lynn died at the Wingate of Reading Nursing Home on December 13, 2013. She was 93 years of age. She was born in Britannia, Newfoundland, Canada on December 20, 1919, the daughter of the late George and Lizzie (Leawood) Bugden. She graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1937. She had lived at Tannerville in Reading for the past ten years where she was a dedicated worker and also served as President of the Tannerville Club. She was a member and former director of Patron's for Older Adults, Priscilla Chapter #52 Order of Eastern Star, Reading, MA and also worked as a volunteer receptionist and meal site helper. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis L. Ritchie. Devoted mother of Nancy L. Marchant and her husband Vincent of Brunswick, ME. Loving grandmother of David Marchant and his wife Annette of Tewksbury, Scott A. Marchant of Taunton, and Janice L. Fitzgerald and her husband Peter of Braintree. Great grandmother of Jacob, Jacquelyn, and Hannah Marchant. Funeral services and burial are private and there are no calling hours.
