CHANGE IN SERVICE DATE DUE TO SNOW STORM

Anthony Theodore Coppola, a resident of Reading for over fifty years, formerly of Everett, died January 31, 2014 at the Winchester Hospital. He was 87 years of age. Anthony was born in Revere, Massachusetts on July 30, 1926, the son of the late Gaetano and Elizabeth (Longo) Coppola. After graduating from Revere High School, he was drafted into the United States Army. He proudly served his country during World War II and upon his honorable discharge from the Army he had a successful 40 year career as a lithographic printer. Anthony met the love of his life, Gloria, on a bus and they were married for 63 years. He loved gardening and watching movies. He will be greatly missed for his quick wit and sense of humor by everyone whose lives he has touched during his lifetime with us. Anthony was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was the beloved husband of Gloria F. (Giordano) Coppola. Devoted father of Lori Hayes (his little girl) and her husband William of Burlington and loving grandfather of Molly Mei. Cherished brother of Marie Upton of Reading, Bette Mercurio of Delray Beach, FL and the late Franklin Coppola. His funeral will be held from the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Thursday, February 6 at 9:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Athanasius Church 300 Haverhill St. Reading at 10:30AM. Burial will follow in Charles Lawn Cemetery, Reading. Funeral Home visiting hours Tuesday from 4-8PM.
